WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading has many different names, Microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, micro pigmentation, feathering brows, or 3D eyebrows. Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure. It is a manual method of depositing pigment into the skin. Each microblading stroke is applied individually, giving the Microblading professional control of the shape, color and density of the completed eyebrow. Resulting in a more natural/flawless/fuller/symmetrical looking brow. This method is ideal for anyone looking to enhance or create eyebrow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows, correcting imperfections and scars, or may be used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little/no hair. Results last 1 to 2 years. The entire treatment takes approximately 2 hours to complete.
How long is the appointment?
An initial 15-minute consultation is recommended for all patients to establish eyebrow goals. From start to end approximately 2 hours will be required the day of your treatment.
Be aware that the thickness of the eyebrows immediately after the procedure will normally be 15% higher than before they will have healed. Also, the color may be up to 30% darker. The result after the first procedure can be seen just after 3 weeks.
How long does it last?
Microbladed eyebrows last 1-2 years if proper aftercare instructions are maintained. Varying shades of hypoallergenic semi-permanent micropigments react differently with each skin type and fade accordingly, depending on skin regimen, sun exposure, environmental and after care precautions.
Does it hurt?
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and it will also be applied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
How far in advanced do i make an appointment?
Initial consultations are highly recommended and can be booked within a week. For the procedure, the appointment will need to be made 2-6 weeks in advance. These time frames are all estimates and can change depending on availability.
